Letter from the Editors

Welcome back! The Vehicle took a bit of a hiatus through the pandemic and, with a brand new staff, we are back and ready to wow our readers with some new works from members of the EIU community. Because of our incredible new staff, we have been able to get this issue produced.

Getting back into things has been more difficult than we all thought, but with our team of amazing staff, we’ve been able to pull off not just one issue but two this semester. Juggling both the 2019 print issue that needed finished, as well as this brand new 2022 web issue, we’ve been hard at work to give these writers and artists a voice in this dark time in history.

Thank you to our staff and editors. All of our hard work this semester has paid off, and because of your hard work and dedication, and many re-reads of pieces, we got it done!

A huge thank you to Dr. Colleen Abel who has led us through this semester in stride and offered so much guidance and grace as our staff has learned what it takes to produce a literary magazine such as this one.

The biggest thank you to everyone who submitted! We as a staff had such a hard time choosing between works of writing and artwork due to how talented this community is. All of the time we spent reading was made very enjoyable by your beautifully strung words.

We hope you enjoy this issue of The Vehicle!
