Jekyll
Jackie Donaldson
I am carved out,
hollow as the night.
My self divides,
splits between the eyes,
and crawls back inside.
I am Jekyll.
I am Hyde.
Did you see my pupils swell
black and wide
to let the light inside?
I am the truth teller.
I am the homewrecker.
I am not the one
that I was
on that night.
