Gluttony
Stacia Farris
I fear that I am a lowly creature
Bloodthirsty,
Feasting on the bleeding heart of love
Though perhaps I am only so
Hungry and desperate
Because as a child, I was
Starved
And so now, I feast
Devour any morsel of attention
I only hope I will learn
Not to suck love’s heart dry
To leave more than bones behind
Once I am finished
Consuming
I am gluttony
